Pompey Women Visit The Valley - Charlton (A)

Pompey Women received a Harsh introduction to life in the Championship after loosing 3-0 to Charlton Away at The Valley.

Around about 70 Pompey fans made the trip up from PO4 to London to support their team on Opening day.

There was Plenty of available parking for fans in and around the stadium for those who drove up however fans had the option to utilise a Coach, that travelled direct from Fratton to The Valley, which had been organised by the Club.

What surprised most fans when arriving at the stadium was the sight of 'Half & Half' Charlton v Pompey Scarfs which were available to purchase on a stool outside the main gates with fans joking "We're in the Big Time Now!"

As Far as Facilities go at the stadium it seemed to all be fairly easily accessible and had everything within a short walk from your seat, down some steps to get to the main concourse. Charlton had plenty of signs and friendly staff around helping answer questions and point people in the right directions if needed.

The Valley offered a good view over the pitch from Block G (Where the majority of Pompey fans were Located) allowing fans to enjoy the game. We were proud to see that the first thing you hear when watching the game back is the Blue army chants echoing around the stadium!

Despite the result there was a great moment Post-game where the players came over to the Traveling Fans to be greeted by an loud applause.
