Pompey Women Visit Ewood Park - Blackburn (A)

Around 20 Blues made the trip to Ewood Park this Sunday (17th November) to back the women's team once again on the road. Ewood park was easy to access, with such a low crowd there was no match traffic and plenty of on site parking in car park H. It was free of charge and right next to the ground. Full mark to Rovers for making it so accessible.
The staff were friendly and very helpful and there were food outlets and a gaming room for kids inside the ground.

It was a wet and overcast day but that didn't stop the Blues support vocally getting behind the away side.
There was an estimated 250 fans present with plenty of empty seats. Despite this some home fans insisted on sitting on exactly on their purchased seat in the middle of the Portsmouth fans (who had been told to sit in that block) and making us move seats. They lasted less than 15 mins before moving. We believe some enthusiastic chanting & support from the Pompey fans may have been a bit much.

Despite a very positive performance Pompey Women fell to defeat at Ewood Park. A penalty early in the second half which many Pompey fans felt was soft, gave the home side an undeserved lead. A defensive mix up late on sealed the win but Pompey had many chances of their own but failure to convert them cost us.
